Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about MRIviz β€” how it works, what to expect, and how your information is protected.

About MRIviz
MRIviz is a free AI-powered tool that translates complex spine MRI radiology reports into plain, understandable language. We take the dense medical jargon that radiologists write for doctors and turn it into a clear, personalized explanation β€” including an interactive spine visualization, highlighted medical terms, treatment options, and questions to ask your doctor.
No. MRIviz is a patient education tool, not a medical diagnosis service. Our translations are designed to help you understand what your radiologist found β€” not to replace the clinical judgment of your physician. Always discuss your MRI findings and treatment decisions with your doctor.
MRIviz currently specializes in lumbar spine (lower back) MRI reports β€” the most commonly ordered spine MRI. Support for cervical (neck) and thoracic (mid-back) spine reports is coming soon.
MRIviz is built on Claude, Anthropic's advanced AI model, and is reviewed by a physician before being sent to you. We translate the findings as reported by your radiologist β€” we do not interpret, add to, or change the clinical findings. Every translation is reviewed for accuracy before delivery.
The Process
Visit mriviz.com/submit and upload your MRI report. We accept PDF files, iPhone screenshots, Android photos, and patient portal printouts. If you only have a paper copy, a clear photo works too.
During beta, reports are reviewed by a physician and typically returned within a few hours. You'll receive an email with a private link to your personalized translation once it's ready.
Your personalized report includes: a plain-English explanation of every finding, an interactive spine visualization showing exactly where your findings are, highlighted medical terms with hover definitions, treatment options from conservative to surgical, and a personalized list of questions to bring to your next appointment. It's also available in Spanish.
Your private report link is active for 30 days. After that, the link expires and all associated data is deleted from our servers. We recommend saving or printing your report before the link expires if you'd like to keep it.
Privacy & Security
No. Your MRI report is used solely to generate your translation and is not stored permanently. Report links expire after 30 days, at which point all associated data is deleted. We do not build a database of patient reports.
Your report is processed by our AI system and reviewed by a physician (Dr. D) before your translation is returned to you. It is not shared with any third parties, advertisers, or other organizations.
MRIviz is currently in beta as a direct-to-consumer patient education tool. We handle your information with the highest level of care and do not store reports permanently. If you have specific compliance questions, please contact us at [email protected].
Never. We do not sell, share, or monetize your personal data or medical information. Your report is used only to generate your translation β€” nothing else.
Beta Program
Yes β€” MRIviz is completely free during beta. There is no cost to participate. In exchange, we ask for your honest feedback after you review your translation.
Simply reply to the email we send with your report link. We'd love to hear what was helpful, what was confusing, and what you'd improve. Your feedback directly shapes the product.
Email us anytime at [email protected] β€” we read every message.
